After several months of hard work and some great help from the community, we declared the current state of the Hockey framework source as 1.0. It has been a great ride so far.
Back in August 2010 we found out about a new iOS mechanism to install Ad-Hoc builds over the air by reading this blog post. Only two weeks passed from the first idea for a framework for developers that can be used to distribute beta versions more easily to the first public release. And since then the framework got quite some attention in the iOS developer community. Other solutions also emerged, like the Mac app iOS Beta Builder, or the web services TestFlight, Diawi, AppSendr, and some others. They all share the same goal: Simplify beta testing!Continue Reading »

We are happy to announce the first public release of Hockey, our open source framework. Hockey provides support for Ad Hoc OTA beta installations with iOS 4.
We showed a sneak peek video last week of what is coming, and here we are, one week later with the release! Hockey helps every iOS developer improve the distribution of beta versions of their apps, whether a first time installation or providing updates. We had the idea for this framework after reading this blog post: http://jeffreysambells.com/posts/2010/06/22/ios-wireless-app-distribution/ where Jeffrey Sambells wrote about the mechanisms required and being available for developers to use.Continue Reading »

Now we are going one step further and found a way to improve the process installing beta versions and updating them. Check out the video to get a sneak peek of what is coming soon, also as open source for all developers to use in their apps.Continue Reading »
Today the new versions 1.5 of WorldView and WorldView Live have been released. Both represent a major step forward creating the best webcam application. Over the last months I spend lots of weekends refactoring about 50% of the app and writing so many things from scratch. And I couldn't be happier with the result.
Beside adding new features, the majority of the changes result in a much faster handling off the application. It is so much faster to use, even when using an iPod touch 1st generation on firmware 2.2.1. This is the slowest combination of software and hardware that is out there and even having several hundred of bookmarks isn't too much to handle for the app while keeping responsive on user interactions.Continue Reading »
